Job Description:
Barron’s Group is seeking a creative, entrepreneurial audio producer to produce weekly series and help develop and launch new podcasts in order to expand Barron’s across platforms, formats and diversify and grow our audience. This person will also create weekly analytics reports and provide data and insights on audio performance.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with audio producing team, Barron’s reporters and editors on existing shows and to develop and launch new audio products; work with hosts on the direction of these shows
Execute the full production of Barron’s weekly podcasts, from pre-production to recording, editing, and publishing
Use data to improve and optimize audio formats
Coach Barron’s reporters and editors without audio experience on presenting for audio
Collaborate and coordinate with the audience development, technology and facilities teams to create, launch and promote Barron’s podcasts
Explore and implement cross promotion opportunities for podcasts
Find, pre-interview, book guests, and arrange for recordings
Structure episodes and write scripts
Cut tape, find archival news clips, assemble mixes and score episodes
Help grow and maintain the show's social media presence
Ideate, pitch and develop new show ideas
Key candidate requirements:
3-5 years of experience working in audio production
The ability and flexibility to work in a fast paced, changing environment
Professional-level understanding of podcast editing tools such as Adobe Audition or Pro Tools
Strong writing skills
Demonstrated passion for storytelling in audio, and/or written content
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and execute against deadlines
Interest and knowledge in business, finance, and investment is a big plus
