Senior Manager, Research, WSJ Pro Artificial Intelligence
WSJ Pro is a specialist subscription-based membership that provides comprehensive news, analysis, data, research and events around five subject verticals: Bankruptcy, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Central Banking and Cybersecurity. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) vertical will launch later this year.
WSJ Pro memberships cater primarily to senior executives and industry practitioners and deliver content via a daily newsletter and alerts, regular events and a digital data & research platform element.
As our reputation and membership grows, new opportunities are opening in the areas of decision-support based content from a dedicated research team, as well as data partnerships and training/education services. Further to that, there is a growing business in customised marketing services for companies looking to promote their credentials to our membership base.
Role: Senior Manager, Research
We are looking for a talented and vibrant individual to build the research portfolio for members of new vertical. The role is a new position and will report to the WSJ Pro Cybersecurity Research Director.
The occupant will contribute to all activities ongoing in the team, including content creation (articles and papers), organization of and participation in events, working with members to address business and analytical queries around Artificial Intelligence. They will also help to seek out and shape partnerships and third-party content, developing new ideas to grow the business and being an active ambassador for WSJ Pro AI at external events.
The role will be based in Princeton, NJ and travel, national and international, may be required.
Research and write regular commentary and analysis on AI topics of relevance to our audience for publication to our membership base.
Research and write special reports for distribution to our subscribers and a wider, non-member audience to generate new memberships.
Engage our audience to understand requirements for further research.
Work to conceptualize, organize, execute on and participate in WSJ Pro Artificial Intelligence events and support other WSJ Pro events.
Support the WSJ Membership team’s C-Suite Network events (CEO, CFO, CIO, CMO) and become a trusted advisor to members where required.
Organize and participate in member-focussed webinars.
Build out a content library of original research-led materials that support members' decision-making and workflows.
Advise the Custom Content division on best practice, latest trends etc, as they work with sponsors to develop marketing programs that reach our membership base in an effective way.
Support the sales team by making them aware of our offerings and participating in sales calls to potential sponsors.
Develop new product ideas to further engage and build our audience.
Act as an internal subject matter expert and be prepared to input to AI discussions within Dow Jones.
Be prepared to diversify and contribute to other existing and future verticals.
Perform ad-hoc projects as required in support of the business.
Occasional overnight travel is a possibility.
This role requires a knowledge of artificial intelligence issues. Technical expertise is not expected, but an ability to grasp complex, sometimes technical issues, and communicate them in the context and language of business is critical.
The ability to write accurately, engagingly and concisely for a business audience is critical.
Prior experience in an AI role, either in government, the military, consultancy or in-house at a large enterprise is an advantage.
The ability to present, both in-house to senior executives and externally to a business audience on AI issues is highly valued. Moderating and participating in external panels is expected.
Excellent research and analytical skills.
The successful candidate will be flexible, creative, and have a passion for AI.
